Welcome guys to ALDIN TECNO. Today I will show you
how to install a custom kernel in few android phones ( Galaxy S3, One plus one,
Galaxy S5,two versions of Galaxy Note 10.1 & two versions of Galaxy note
8). The kernel that I will use called Boeffla. It’s good and it supports the
previous mentioned phones.
Boeffla kernel has several versions: Alfa, Beta, and
Stable. This version depends on your device model number and the OS that you
are using. Of course the best version that you should get is stable, but I’ve
tried the Alfa version on a custom OS and it worked fine. I’ve already did a
post that shows you what are the pros & cons of custom kernel in a daily normal
use. You can see it from this link.
Now let’s see the tutorial to install a custom kernel.
In this lesson I will use an unlocked international Galaxy S3 or Gti9300.
Note 1: your phone should be rooted before
installing a custom kernel for sure.
Note 2. I’m not responsible for any bricked
devices, so if you want to try it it’s on your responsibility.
1. Go to Boeffla website which you can find it from
this link. BOEFFLA
2. Check your device model number to choose the correct
phone. You can check the model number by going to the settings of your phone
and then go to About device settings then you can see what is your model
number.
3. After you find the compatible kernel, download it
and download the kernel app. For example I will choose Galaxy S3, stable
version, android 4.3 stock, so make sure what OS version you are using.
4.After you finish downloading it, go to Google play
store and download an app called Rashr or you can get it from this link:- Rashr application
5.Open Rashr app and Grant the root access. This app
will read your phone information to give you compatible custom recoveries for
your device. Note: before installing a custom recovery your device should be
unlocked device. If you download and flashed a custom recovery with your locked
device, your device will be soft bricked, so in this situation you should
reinstall your stock phone ROM in order to fix it.
6.Choose TWRP (recommended), and download the latest
version of this recovery, then reboot your phone to recovery section.
7.Now, you are on TWRP recovery. Go to install then
choose Boeffla custom kernel file and install it. After you finish, wipe the cache
and dailvk cache then restart your device.
8. After you finish, install the Boeffla app and grant
the root access.
9. Congratulations.
